Lake Grassmere Harvest Result 2015

The annual harvest at Lake Grassmere commenced on March 17th and there has been a lot of anticipation with such a great summer and very little rainfall.  After 6 weeks the 2015 harvest is now complete with a final volume of 101,069 tonnes – this has been an extremely pleasing result.  This is one of the highest harvests recorded – so it has been a great effort by all staff and contractors involved.      The salt stack is well and truly replenished.  ...

Dominion Salt – Lake Grassmere 2015 Harvest

On Tuesday 17th March, our Lake Grassmere site began its 2015 Harvest.    Harvesting usually begins by early March each year and can last from four to six weeks, during which time the salt crust is lifted from the bottom of the 22 crystallising ponds.     The summer months have been kind this year, and Lake Grassmere has received plenty of sunshine and very little rainful therefore the salt stacks will soon be replenished and piled high with additional salt to supply our valued ...

Shane Dufaur – Dominion CEO,  is soon to have a new look!   Yes he publically having his (less than!!) luscious locks shaved on March 7 at the Mount Beach Bald 2015 funrazor –  in support of the Child Cancer Foundation.

2014 Harvest

On Monday 17th of March 2014 we began the annual Salt Harvest at our Lake Grassmere site located near Blenheim.  The harvest tonnage is tracking well and though we are not expecting the same bumper harvest that we achieved in 2013, we are confident we will still reach good volumes.  The harvest will continue until approximately the end of April.
