It is with great pride that Dominion Salt – Lake Grassmere jointly with Vector have been named as finalists for the 2018 Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards in the category of Large Energy User Initiative of the Year. The award criteria is for outstanding energy-related initiatives that have delivered significant benefits, carried out by large energy users.
The nomination which is for “World first in battery and wind energy solution” has come about from Dominion’s wind turbine energy being combined with the Tesla power pack, installed and configured with a customer control system by Vector. This means Lake Grassmere can store up to 570kW hours of energy which maximizes the wind turbines efficiency and smooths the balance between onsite wind generation and variable plant load. This project puts both Dominion Salt and Vector at the leading edge of renewable energy, with this Australasian-first energy system. View the video on this project here.
In the same awards our CEO – Shane Dufaur has also been nominated for the Energy and Emissions Leadership Award. This nomination is true testament to Shane’s passion as an energy pioneer and his accomplishments with incorporating people engagement, sustainability, lean manufacturing, and ground breaking innovation.
